Anybody with an interest or just a love for food must save the date to attend the Taste of Tzaneen from 31st October to 2 November at Fairview Hotel in Tzaneen.

The SA Chefs Committee, Limpopo and South African Chefs Association will be hosting the first Taste of Tzaneen senior and junior chefs’ competitions, and participants will be able to show off their skills in a professional environment with some of the best judges in the country on board. Spectators and interested parties are welcome to attend the competitions.

The Junior Competition will start on Thursday morning at 9h00 to 16h00, and the Senior Chefs Competition will run from 8h00 to 13h00. The prize giving will take place on Saturday afternoon at 16h00 from the open stage at the Golden Circle.

Other not to be missed events will be the Culinary Theatre, where chefs will be preparing delicious recipes with well-known ingredients and products while they are constantly interviewed and questioned by the audience and by members of the SA Chefs Association.

Then, certainly the most important for most visitors will be the food options available during the Taste of Tzaneen this year – from which the The Food Court will offer a great variety of street foods during the event and promise not to disappoint!

Other options will include cheese and charcuterie platters, Sushi, Eastern Cuisine, South African Potjiekos, Braaivleis and then the Chesa Nyama platters which will be sold during the after party on Saturday evening.

A mouth-watering buffet is on offer on Thursday evening during the Taste of Tzaneen Opening and Awards Ceremony as well as for A Night with the Generals, on Saturday evening and the focus will be on true South African food, as we will be Celebrating Limpopo!

And then to complete the picture of the culinary experience at the Taste of Tzaneen guests will be able to enjoy the Wine, Gin and Craft Beer Expo, and last but not least a coffee stall to die for!
